It’s crazy how much can change in a year. 🌱

A year ago, this was nothing but weeds, patches of grass, and a whole lot of empty space.

Now it’s turned into our own little food jungle. 🍅🌶️🍇🌽🥒

Still a work in progress, but watching something we started from the ground up come to life has been pretty cool.

Here’s to growing more, learning more, and seeing what another year brings. 🌱❤️

We found this beautiful pink praying mantis hanging out on our taro plant at King’s Corner! I’ve seen plenty of green and brown mantises, but never one dressed like a fairy. 🧚‍♀️

Can anyone guess what that potato-looking thing is? 👀

If you guessed Taro, you’re right!!! 🌱

One of my favorite things to do is try and grow things that aren’t very common in most gardens. This year, we’re trying our hand at growing taro!

Taro is a starchy root vegetable that has been an important part of Hawaiian culture and cuisine for centuries. In Hawaii, taro is called kalo and is traditionally used to make poi. 🌺

Fun fact: Kalo is much more than just a food in Hawaiian culture—it’s deeply connected to Hawaiian history, traditions, and the land. Some Hawaiian traditions even describe kalo as an ancestor of the Hawaiian people. ❤️🌱

I can’t wait to see how ours turns out!
