📚 A quick reminder about our Used Book Buyback Program 📚

We’re very happy to offer used-book buybacks at The Double Veil, but after a few interactions today, we want to clarify how our program works.

When we purchase a used book, the offer is a percentage of what we expect to resell that book for, not a percentage of the book’s original retail/list price. For example, if a book originally retailed for $18 but we plan to sell the used copy for $8, the buyback offer is calculated from that $8 resale price.

There’s an important reason for this. 💛 We purchase used books so that we can offer more affordable books to our customers. Not everyone can comfortably pay $15–$30 for a new book, and having a great selection of gently loved books gives more people in our community an opportunity to read, discover new authors, and enjoy literature.

Our current policy offers up to 40% of our resale price in store credit or, for select titles, up to 25% in cash. We understand that an offer may not always be what someone hoped to receive, and you are absolutely welcome to decline it and keep your books.

What we do ask is that our employees are treated with kindness and respect. 🖤

We are trying to create a program that works for everyone: people looking to give their books a second life, readers looking for affordable options, and a small local bookstore working hard to serve its community.

We want YOUR used books!!

Did you know we buy used books? If you didn't, here's a bit of info:

📚 We're looking for newer books with minimal wear or damage.

📚 We offer both cash & store credit options for the books you bring.

📚 We're now doing same-day appraisals! But sometimes we're super busy; if that happens, we'll take your contact info and call you asap!

Bring in your books to have them appraised today! We're here Tuesday through Saturday starting at 12pm.

( edit: if you have dropped off any books recently for apprasials, we have your totals! Please stop by the store asap 🙂)

Grab your witch hats friends 🧙‍♀️🔮 ✨🕯️

We are seeing an early screening of Practical Magic 2 with our friends in the Good Company Club!!

Here's all the info you need ⬇️

And the theater gave us an AMAZING deal:

🎟️ $7 per person
🍿 Small popcorn included
🥤 Small drink included

The theater is opening privately for us, which means we have to have at least 60 people show up to make this happen.

You’ll pay the theater directly when you arrive! They accept cash or card. If paying by card, there will be a 3% processing fee.

Friends, family, spouses, etc. are welcome too! You do not have to be a Good Company member or part of the book club to join us.

If you are planning to attend, please comment below to make sure we hit that 60-person minimum!
