PSA • There are times when the surf angler loses their rig. As they cast their line breaks and sends their weight and rig in the surf. Lost forever? NO! Often times these lost rigs show themselves on the outgoing or at low tide. This weekend I encountered a lost rig. I could see the color of this jig head poking out of the sand with 2 pyramids buried below in the sand. Please parents, advise your children to be careful and to look out for these. A child playing by the water who thinks they found something cool can easily get hooked when they go to grab it. Like the young girl I saw a couple summers ago. What a scene.

So everyone be mindful of not getting hooked on lost rigs with sharp hooks. And to the angler, due your best to avoid any mishaps.

Yesterday was a beautiful morning on the NJ beaches. Robb and Peter on LBI caught about 30 fluke combined. I hit the Ventnor surf, catching kingfish and spot. A good time had by all🎣

Brad Yoder hit the beach on the south end of the island yesterday and had a good day. Brad caught 16 fluke to 17” and also caught a 13” bluefish.
