🪴Today was a busy one at the shop! Morning meetings, unpacking some new fun things, watering section 3 (one of the biggest sections at Happy Day) and cleaning up everything in time for Lunch Bunch to begin at 12:30. I was buzzing around trying to check as many things off of my list as possible when I noticed Victor working so hard all by himself. He wasn’t sad to be working alone (although he can’t wait for John to return), he was confident. He moved from one task to the next with so much care and patience. He asked for help if he needed it and finished his work with pride. Amy and I marveled at the skills Victor has learned while at Happy Day. He’s gone from having a job coach with him at all times, to working very independently. Go Victor!!!
🪴The work you are helping us to do is so important! Just this week I’ve spoken with 4 different parents and caregivers who are looking for a place for their child to work or volunteer. Our waitlists are long, but that does not discourage me, it fuels me. We’re working harder than ever to make Happy Day not just a plant shop, but a place where everyone can belong! A place where the stories we tell ourselves change for the better and where community shows a whole new meaning. Thank you for supporting us, Victor and all of the other individuals who are growing in more ways than you can imagine at Happy Day Plants. We are truly just getting started!
