Lily isn’t exactly thrilled with her arrival in the Afterlife, but what awaits her there is more fantastical than she ever could have imagined: Deities wait in line at the coffee shop. Fae flit between realms. Souls find ways to make death a beginning.

Jaysea Lynn was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and has always been a lover of fantasy and storytelling. After graduating from college, she purchased and lived aboard a 35-foot sailboat for eight years. During that time, she found success with Hell’s Belles, her comedy/drama skit series on TikTok, and gained the confidence to share her writing, which had been a lifelong but private passion. When she’s not writing or pursuing other creative endeavors, she can be found with her nose in a book, going for walks, finding random adventures, or trying to perfect a cup of coffee (with mixed success).

Ghost Town In The Mountains by Lynn Becker: It’s a dark and gloomy night when two children decide to visit a ghost town. It’s lonely. It’s deserted. And it’s certainly eerie. The main street is filled with tumbledown storefronts and there’s not a soul in sight. But then the kids spot a boarded-up creaky, creepy cabin. Do they dare enter? What will they find? Due to the summer heat, our Fill A Backpack donation bin has been moved inside The Quill & Candle Bookshop!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

We still have two weeks left to collect donations, and there’s plenty of room in the bin! If you’d like to participate, check out the school supply list, choose a grade level (or two!) you’d like to support, and fill a backpack with the supplies a child needs to start the school year with confidence.

Every backpack makes a difference, and every donation helps set a student up for success.
