We are anticipating starting our CSA farm share after the 4th of July. Our largest high tunnel has been producing food for a while now. We are harvesting sugar snap peas, garlic, onions, Swiss chard, dill, etc. What is amazing is that as we have focused on building the health of the soil, which annual veggies keep coming up every year - tomatillo, Swiss chard, collards, etc. The high tunnel allows us to grow food unheated year-round with hot season crops such as melons, okra, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, basil, sweet-potatoes thriving in the heat (with ample water) keeping the nighttime temperatures warmer to speed up ripening. As we reach July and August we start sowing/planting appropriate vegetables, that will ripen in the fall before temperatures get too cold.
Many years we get 3 crops per year. Providing our own version of a grocery store during the year. It is quite therapeutic to be able to walk inside the greenhouse with a colander and knife in the cold, gray rainy season and harvest salad crops for dinner. We encourage people to do this at home - it is a wonderful investment not only economically, but for overall well-being.

We still have CSA opportunities for this summer. The application is attached to this post so you can read more about what a CSA is. The price of food is not going to get cheaper any time soon. A bag of freshly picked in season food is worth $30 a week. We are organic growers and the complaint we get is that there is too much food in the bag. If there is a problem this is your chance to share food with other families. We put recipes in the bag and a letter explaining what is happening on the farm or explaining what maybe a new taste for you, like what kohlrabi is or quince (your grandmother would know what that is).

We are actively planting our available vegetable starts into the field and high tunnels. If you still have a need for transplants to let us know because they won’t be available much longer
