Happy Saturday from The Dreaming Peddler! 🐸✨

Libyan Desert Glass is a rare natural glass found in the Great Sand Sea of the Sahara. It was formed when the extreme heat from a meteorite impact melted silica-rich desert material around 29 million years ago, leaving behind the beautiful golden glass scattered across the desert today. 🏜️☄️

Its human history is just as fascinating—Libyan Desert Glass has been collected and sculpted for thousands of years, and perhaps its most famous appearance is in the carved scarab centerpiece of a pectoral found in the tomb of Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun. 👑

We have a beautiful selection in the shop right now, including large natural specimens, hand-wrapped pendants, and sterling silver jewelry. 💛

East Texas treasures, millions of years in the making! 🌿🪨✨

We’ve added a whole new section of East Texas Petrified Palmwood & Petrified Wood, with beautiful large specimens and plenty of tumbled pieces to dig through! 🐸✨

Did you know petrified palmwood is the official state stone of Texas? 🤠 Unlike true wood, ancient palms didn’t have growth rings. Their trunks were made up of dense bundles of vascular tissue, which create the beautiful spotted and fibrous patterns you can still see in petrified pieces today.

Over millions of years, buried plant material was gradually replaced by silica-rich minerals, preserving its original structure while turning it to stone. Much of the petrified palmwood found in East Texas dates back to the Oligocene Epoch, roughly 23–34 million years ago, when the region looked very different than it does today. 🌴⏳

Come explore a little piece of ancient East Texas history—from big statement specimens to smooth tumbled treasures!

Our sweet Queen Aslan has found her furrever home!! 🥹🐱👑💕

And the very best part… we’re keeping her in The Dreaming Peddler family! Our wonderful Julia is officially adopting her! 🐸✨

We couldn’t imagine a happier ending than knowing she’ll be going home with someone she already knows and loves. 🥹💚

Don’t worry, this isn’t goodbye! Aslan will still be part of The Dreaming Peddler family, just enjoying her very own home (and undoubtedly being treated like the Queen she is 👑).

**UPDATE** She has found her Furrever Home!

After three wonderful months of fostering our beloved shop cat, Queen Aslan, the time has come to find her forever home. 👑🐈💚

We love this sweet girl so dearly, and we know so many of you have fallen in love with her too. She has become such a special little part of The Dreaming Peddler, lounging in her favorite spots, greeting customers, keeping watch over the shop, and of course, accepting all the cuddles and admiration that a Queen deserves. 🐾✨

As much as we would love for her to stay Queen of The Peddler forever, we always knew fostering meant helping her get ready for the home that would truly be hers. After three months with us, we know her personality so well and feel that she’s ready for that next chapter. 🥹💚

We want to make sure her forever home is the absolute right fit, with someone who will love and spoil her just as much as we have. If you’ve met Queen Aslan, fallen in love with her, and think your home might be the one she’s been waiting for, please reach out to us.
