Bob's Sporting Goods We are a local sporting goods store located in Longview, WA. In 1947 Bob Schlecht Sr. The local women kept him supplied with used grocery bags. We have grown.

We live and breathe hunting and fishing, and enjoy helping others take advantage of all the outdoors have to offer. "hitched" his way from Minot, ND to Longview, WA, by way of railcar roof-tops. He and his wife Lila, opened the original war surplus store in a small tent. Selling items such as Army Cots for $2.50, Canteens for 25 cents, and Wool Socks for 50 cents. In 1956 a 6,000 square foot store

was built. Over the next 40 years, 7 more building phases were completed. Most of the store was painted green, the result of one of Bob Senior's great paint bargains! Today we still offer that old fashioned, hometown service, that will leave you with a smile! Bob's boasts:

The turnout today has left us speechless. Thank you, Cowlitz County. You showed up for these families in a way that says everything about this community.

We know we usually keep things light around here. But this week has weighed heavy on our hearts. The Nippon accident has shaken our whole community, and we're grateful to offer our parking lot for a fundraiser supporting the families affected.
Come out Saturday, May 30th from 11am to 7pm. There will be BBQ and drinks, and every dollar goes directly to the families.
Come eat, come give, come stand with your neighbors. We're in this together.
