Shawn Sams, Chair of TPA’s Independent Pharmacy Academy (IPA), met today in Longview with his state representative, Rep. Jay Dean, who is Chair of the House Insurance Committee. Sams and other pharmacists discussed issues important to , including PBM abuses and their impact on the viability of independent community pharmacies, as well as the opportunity for reforms to reduce healthcare costs.

TPA looks forward to working closely with Chairman Dean again during the upcoming legislative session to help preserve patient access to pharmacists as the state’s most accessible healthcare providers.
