They say teamwork makes the dream work…..we’re hiring for an experienced Field Manager to handle the day-to-day care, maintenance and seasonal transformation of our ¼-acre flower field and pumpkin patch.
This is a part-time, flexible position for someone who can work independently, notice problems early and thoughtfully move the field from one season to the next. Because while we love doing all the things, we’ve accepted that we can’t actually do all the things.
Responsibilities include:
-Irrigation maintenance, repairs & troubleshooting
-W**d eating, w**d control & field cleanup
-Planting, bed preparation & seasonal turnover
-Monitoring plant health, pests & disease
-Maintaining and managing the compost pile
-Operating power tools and farm equipment
-Heavy lifting, hauling & physical outdoor work
-Maintaining a weekly field maintenance schedule
-Directing seasonal or field assistants as needed
-Lead the seasonal transition from flower production to our fall pumpkin patch
-Preparing and maintaining the field for customer-facing seasonal operations
-Maintaining field beautification throughout transitions so the property remains clean, intentional and inviting
-Managing crop and bed turnover with care, preserving what should remain while efficiently clearing and preparing what comes next
-Assisting with our Christmas tree season and other seasonal transitions
We’re looking for someone who:
-Has farming, landscaping, irrigation, horticulture or similar experience.
-Is comfortable using power tools and outdoor equipment
-Has strong irrigation knowledge
-Is mechanically inclined and a good problem solver
-Has an eye for presentation as well as field functionality
-Is dependable, physically capable and comfortable working outdoors
-Can look at a field, identify priorities and take action without waiting for a task list
