August can still be packed with flowers if you grow plants that enjoy the second half of summer 🌸 A few things I’ve learned:
🌻 Sunflowers, coneflowers, black-eyed Susans, and coreopsis can keep sunny beds colorful.
🐝 Goldenrod, Joe-Pye w**d, bee balm, and helenium are especially useful when pollinators need late-season food.
🌿 Stonecrop is one of my favorites because the flowers keep looking good as summer starts winding down.
🌼 Bloom time varies by variety and climate, so some of these may start earlier or continue well into fall.
⚠️ Butterfly bush can be invasive or restricted in some areas, so I’d check locally before planting it.
Mixing several late bloomers keeps the garden from looking finished too early.
