Building community doesn’t have to be complicated or resource heavy. Sometimes it’s just a tote bag with a flask, some cups and a box of tea in the local nature reserve.
And the bravery to say good morning to neighbors.

Bundle of dressed cinnamon incense sticks and selenite. Cinnamon sticks are a great way to smoke cleanse threshold spaces during the season of thresholds.
Cinnamon was first introduced to the British isles during the Roman period 1-4 century as a rare and luxury spice along with ginger and pepper.

By the 9th century, cinnamon is first recorded within a medicinal context.

By the 1400s it was a more readily available spice and became a key ingredient in wealthier kitchens to spice meats and drinks. The warming properties of cinnamon were considered to influence and balance the humors.
Cinnamon has long been a traditional folk ingredient despite its exotic origins.
So this fall season, consider how you can bring cinnamon into your magical practice: it’s warming fire energy as a cleanser and protector can be incredible effective.

Working with a tarot client during the liminal space of sundown, as we drink a cup of herbal tea and listen to the evening bird chorus, brings an extra quality to the way the cards reveal the narrative.

My tarot reading sessions aren’t about “telling the future” or asking the tarot to give you a definitive outcome. I believe you have the power to direct and influence the way each chapter of your story unfolds — and that it isn’t already written for certain in the cards.

When we work together through tarot, a story is revealed. Where you have been, where you are, and where you desire to go.

The Tarot allows a space to sit with more uncomfortable, disruptive questions that challenge our established narratives and reveal multiple arcs of possibility — different pathways towards an envisioned or hoped-for life. We work together to explore ways to get there, and what might need to be done along the way.

I don’t personally believe the tarot’s symbolic system is entirely fixed within the boundaries of correspondence. Its symbols can shift and expand depending on the context and nuances of the questions we are exploring. Multiple truths can be held at once.

The Cups may speak to the emotional realm in one context, or to abundance, nourishment and what we have available to give in another. The Swords may speak to intellect and matters of the mind in one reading, and invite an exploration of action, conflict or decision-making in another.

It’s expansive and responsive — just as symbols are within semiotic and psychoanalytic systems.

So if you’re curious to come and explore your story with me, and ready to plot out some possible pathways for your future, DM me.

The Untamed World is based on 5 pillars

The Garden: Earth connectivity, reciprocity, ancestral work, grounding, nourishment, seasons, ecosystems

The Library: scholarship, study, noticing and observing, learning, growing, recording, educating

The Apothecary: medicine, craft, creativity, nature, magic, ceremony, ritual, craft, tradition, reimagination

The Porch: community, village, connection, support, resistance, love, truth, support, matriarchy, conversation, stories

The Kitchen: nourishment, feasting, land connection, abundance, traditions, identity, cultural connection, values, ceremony, medicine, sharing, health.
This is the ecosystem that makes up the magic. It’s lived, daily. In mindful domestic tasks of turning soil, baking bread, brewing tea, turning cards. Magic lives in the seconds as well as the hours and it’s as imperfect and chaotic as every other aspect of modern life.

Sharing the final pillar of the Untamed Estate with you today — the untamed kitchen. A place of nourishment, abundance, balance, nutrition, health, conscientious choices, generosity and love.
The kitchen is truly the heart of our home. A natural gathering space where family information, stories and experiences are shared.
And with plans to feed and nourish our circle here in the future, the kitchen is a place of contradictions: discipline and innovation, chaos and organisation, traditions and evolution.
It’s a practical space, but also one filled with ritual, memory and care. The everyday work of feeding ourselves and each other is, in its own way, a form of magic.
