Four years.
It feels like a heartbeat and a lifetime all at once. When I trace the map of our journey, I don’t see a straight, easy road. I see a landscape—peaks of joy so bright they took my breath away, and valleys so deep we walked them in silence, hand in hand.
We’ve known the sun-drenched days, Fidelis. The laughter that echoed through our home, the small triumphs, the quiet moments of understanding that felt like a language only we spoke.
And we’ve known the storms. The kind that threaten to uproot everything. We’ve stood in the wind and rain, sometimes shouting, sometimes just holding on, whispering, “We will not let go.”
But here is the miracle, my love. Here is the poetry of us: We are still here.
Not just in the same house, but in the same hope. Not just sharing a name, but sharing a stubborn, beautiful faith that this—we—are worth every step. Our family is the testament. This life we’ve built, brick by weary, wonderful brick, is our greatest creation.
You are my constant. My rock when I am trembling, and my soft place when I am weary. Thank you for choosing me, for choosing us, every single day for 1,460 sunrises.
Here’s to the roots we’ve grown in good soil and hard rock. Here’s to the story we’re still writing, chapter by chapter. Here’s to us, Fidelis. Four years down, and forever to go.
I’d choose you through all of it, again and again.
Happy Anniversary, my love. 💖
