Want to get up earlier? Start by waking up 5 minutes earlier than normal. ​​​​​​​​

Let's be honest. Not every day is rainbows and butterflies. Some days are rough. Others are downright terrible.

It's easy to see all the negative things and find yourself in a mental downward spiral of doom.

Instead of focusing on the negative, find something positive.

Because it is literally impossible to think of something negative at the same time as something positive.

What if we told you that it's not necessarily how much sleep you get, but rather, the quality of sleep that matters?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Before you turn to supplements like melatonin, try the 3-2-1 method. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3 - digesting food takes energy, which means your body isn't fully shutting down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 - Focusing on work too close to bed means your brain doesn't have the chance to wind down, leaving you with racing thoughts rather than falling into dreamland⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 - Blue light inhibits melatonin production and increases cortisol levels, both make it hard to get quality sleep. Our screens are the worst emitters of blue light so shut them down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

INSTEAD, try this: eat earlier to give yourself time to digest your food, shut your work brain off along with the screens and spend the last two hours before bed journaling, writing down the things you need to accomplish tomorrow, then read something entertaining to help release the stress from the day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It's easy to overlook the value of spirituality. It is intangible. It is often equated with religion or God. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But in its simplest form, spirituality is merely connecting with our souls. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is finding peace in our hearts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is seeking out forgiveness instead of revenge. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is believing in something bigger than ourselves. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It is connecting with the energy of the universe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And most don't actively prioritize spirituality in daily life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But all religions and spiritual teachers speak the same truth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ask and you shall receive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Visualize it and it shall manifest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You get back what you put in.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Spirituality is the 🔑 to success. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In life. In relationships. In parenting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take a step back from businesses, careers, wealth, and appearances in order to refocus on your inner self.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through this level of self-reflection, you will find more patience, compassion, and empathy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All of which are critical to being an amazing parent, partner and person.

Some days though, our best looks different than others. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some days, you may be super productive and check everything off your list. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Other days, you may feel like crap and not get much done at all. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Both are ok. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Parenting is hard. We often project our own lives onto our kids. ⁠

Our insecurities show up. ⁠

We often treat our kids the way our parents treated us—for better or worse. ⁠

The reality is, raising kids isn't about us, it's about them. ⁠

This is something that I've realized as my son gets older (he's nearing 3 years old). He is his own little being. ⁠

He has likes and dislikes. ⁠

He behaves in ways that I didn't. ⁠

Realizing that raising him is about recognizing who he is, and showing up in a way that suits HIM has been a game changer for me. ⁠

It has eliminated much of the frustration I felt early on. ⁠

And it has made him (and me) happier. ⁠
