Sunday Share: this may not look like much BUT…. I planted milkweed seeds here a while ago on a random piece of dirt on the street and would water it when I passed it on my runs, but nothing was happening…

One day I got the courage to chat with the neighbor across the street (who is always watering his plants) and I told him I planted seeds but the patch needed more water and kindly asked him to consider watering it a bit if he remembered.

Well… he has been watering it each morning and it’s growing!!! We now greet one another and smile as we see our little plot of greens grow, and the possibilities are endless!

Highly recommend this little act of connection.

When I see litter on my morning runs, I make it a point to come back to clean up. I usually think it’s going to be quick and easy, and 9 out of 10 times I fill up a full bag within a tiny radius. Either way, I love leaving our neighborhood tidy and ready for the day. I imagine families, neighbors, and visitors walking to and from places through tidy streets which helps our mental and emotional health, and that is worth it.

Why we recommend participating in these micro clean ups:
🌞Saying hello to strangers while you clean is quite the dopamine hit
💛 Great way to meet neighbors
🏃🏽‍♀️ We all get to enjoy our walks / runs
🗑️ Fun to make up stories about how this litter got there
