❤️‍🔥 Every so often, we acquire a piece so unusual, that it immediately becomes part of the archive.

This was one of those. ❤️‍🔥

Transparent, gem quality, faceted rhodonite is extraordinarily rare, especially material clean enough to facet at this level. This 10.12 ct stone was mined from New South Wales, Australia- and is from the same rough as a piece now held at the Smithsonian’s National Gem Gallery.

Ours is bigger though. 😉😜

Originally part of a ring, this was redesigned by our own resident gemologist Matt Stoker | Gem & Jewelry Specialist | CTO 🖤 and now is part of the Facet & Flame vault. 💙

BLUE TOPAZ + ENAMEL STARFISH RING ⭐️

Okay, final piece of the night (we think) and we’re getting a little weird and whimsical with it. 😂

This is one of those designs that we loved because it doesn’t take itself too seriously and jewellery is meant to be fun! The starfish is completely three-dimensional, covered in this rich blue enamel with tiny gold details that almost give it a milgrain effect. Then right in the centre is a bright Swiss blue topaz.

And because we don’t want the starfish to be lonely, the bypass design finishes on the other side with a pavé diamond disc. 😂 It’s quirky, beautifully made and makes us want to go to the beach 🏖️

OPAL + DIAMOND FLOWER RING 🌸

Well this one is just incredibly charming.

A 1.10ct opal sits right in the centre of this floral setting, surrounded by little clusters of white diamonds that form the petals. And it’s a GOOD opal- trust us. That soft, almost lit from within body colour gives you the perfect backdrop for flashes of green, blue, red and orange as it moves.

But our favourite part might actually be the contrast of the band. Instead of putting this on a traditional shank, it has that gorgeous chain-link design running around the finger. It gives what could have been a very sweet, classic floral ring a slightly unexpected edge. 💪🏻

It feels a little vintage, a little whimsical, and very much like something you’d keep staring at on your hand. 🌸🔥

We’ve already established that we love blue topaz and peridot together- so why not do it in an emerald cut as well? 🤩

There’s something about the clean geometry of these two stones that makes the blue and green look even better together. A beautifully cut 2.91ct Swiss blue topaz paired with 1.44ct of bright green peridot, both step cut so you get those big flashes of light across the facets.

MADEIRA CITRINE + BLACK ENAMEL RING

Okay, apparently we have a thing for gemstones with edgy bands. 😅

This time it’s a 1.76ct Madeira citrine, and the colour is exactly what I want from Madeira. Rich, fiery orange with those deeper reddish cognac tones rather than the lighter yellow you typically associate with citrine. The cut on this one is fantastic too. Get it into direct light and it absolutely lights up.

But I think the band is what makes the whole ring. Black enamel runs through the gold in this almost tiger-stripe 🐅pattern, giving a classic citrine and diamond halo a much edgier personality.

Warm fiery orange, black enamel, yellow gold and just enough white diamond sparkle. It shouldn’t be subtle, and thankfully it isn’t. 😂🧡

19.96CT WELO OPAL SPHERE + DIAMOND NECKLACE

Okay, this is the opal to end all opals. 🤩

A 19.96ct Welo opal cut into a perfect sphere, which is a much bigger deal than it might sound. Cutting opal is already an exercise in knowing exactly how far you can push a stone, but creating a sphere this large, this even, and with play-of-colour wrapping around it in every direction takes some serious skill. There’s a reason I only know one vendor doing these exceptionally well.

And THIS opal performs (it’s so difficult to capture on camera- it’s one you need to see to believe). The body is this beautiful angelic, milky white, then as it moves you get flashes of electric green, red, orange, purple, yellow and little hits of blue. Because it’s a sphere rather than a traditional cabochon, there really isn’t a “front” to the stone. The colour gets to reveal itself from every angle.

Then we basically have a diamond-set 18k gold floral cage that wraps around it, which I love. It protects the opal while still leaving huge areas exposed so you can actually see the sphere and all that colour doing its thing.

It is unusual, rare, technically impressive and completely mesmerising. Basically everything we want in a piece of jewellery!! 😍

Tell me this doesn’t look like a piece of kryptonite. 💚

This is 3.56ct of ridiculously bright peridot, and honestly I don’t think it needs much help from me. The colour is LOUD. That almost neon, electric green is exactly what we want from peridot, and the simple bezel setting lets this big round stone do all the work.

I also love how clean the design is after some of the more elaborate pieces we’ve shown today. No halo. No accent stones. Just a beautiful gemstone wrapped in 18k gold.

PURPLE SAPPHIRE + DIAMOND BRACELET

When most people hear sapphire, their brain immediately goes blue 💙. Mine usually starts wondering what other colours we can find. 😂💜

Purple sapphire is one of those varieties we don’t come across nearly as often, especially when you’re trying to put together 6.14ct of it with enough consistency to make an entire bracelet of baguette cuts work. 😵‍💫 These stones have that gorgeous plum-purple colour that looks SO good against yellow gold.

Then between every sapphire is a bright F-G colour diamond. 1.05ct of diamonds in total, so there’s enough white sparkle to break up all that purple without competing with it.

This is also why I love sapphire as a gemstone category. Everyone knows the classic blue, but corundum gives us this whole other world of colour, and purple deserves considerably more attention than it gets.

A true one-of-one, and definitely one of the favourite pieces in this drop. 💜
