Berlin got its first AI surveillance camera and people are adapting.

Made by Simon Weckert , this shirt is designed with specific, adversarial patterns that are too hard / confusing for AI to process and recognize, making you essentially invisible to the machine. The algorithm was trained on specific data to be able to spot people, and once you manage to make it. ot see you a person it won’t analyze you.

We made a reel on this topic 2 years ago, and we are sure the topic will become ever more relevanting, demanding artists and brands to get creatively rebellious.

It’s officially been 10 years since this dropped 👇

As a reflection of times changed, this was still one of the most controversial moments in Thug’s carrier. He was already dressing more fluid at that point and openly talking about his love for ‘womens clothes’ but it still caused a lot of hate from the certain parts of hip-hop community.

Thugger spotted the piece in 2016 on a runway in New York, and called it on the spot: “This is the cover for my album Jeffrey. It’s like Mortal Kombat, Sub-Zero.”

The dress is from Alessandro Trincone Annodami collection, made while he was still a student. He’s from Naples and studied in Japan, so he put Neapolitan tailoring onto Japanese construction, kosode trousers, kimono wrapping, a Ban Gasa hat. Annodami means “tie me” and the whole collection is built on knots, with the tied waist meant as protection rather than restriction.

An earlier cover shot in Atlanta got scrapped for this one. The dress got shipped over from Italy, a tailor fitted it, and it took over an hour just to get him into it.

The reaction split hard, fashion press loved it and a lot of rap fans didn’t. Now it gets credited with opening the lane for U*i, Rocky and Lil Nas X, and the dress itself ended up in a museum in Boston next to Bowie and Dietrich pieces.
