EAR MODEL 10 MARK II UPDATE:

Pushbutton LEDs now online. Ourside ofthe envelope 2 shape LED not turning on (probably a soldering issue) we have a 100% functional module. You may notice you won't see the EOC LEDs firing on every cycle - that's due to the frame update rate of my iPhone video.

Have a look and let me know if the Model 10 Mark II was worth the work. What do you think I've the big picture?

INTRODUCING THE EAR MODEL 24 MARK II HEISENBERG GENERATOR

A significant upgrade of the original M24, the Mark 2 is a dual fully voltage controllable random voltage source with both Smooth and Stepped voltage generators, and an independent output for digital noise.

New features:

The Smooth random generator now has a hold input.

The Stepped generator can be formatted for either uniform or gaussian voltage distribution, quantized or raw random output, random or metric internal clocking, or external clocking.

The Stepped output can be formatted for either quantized or raw (non quantized) random voltages. There are five preset quantized scales (Major, Minor, Chromatic, Whole Tone, Pentachord (Jump by 5ths) with a 6 position allowing the user to load any of seven additional scales (Quartertone, Pentatonic Major, Pentatonic Minor, Dorian, Lydian, Raga Asavari (Indian 5 step scale) or Tetrachord Diatonic (Ancient Greek Jump by 4ths)

Additionally, there is a calibration mode to assure tracking accuracy over an eight octave range.

Currently in qualification/beta, 2-3 months until release and available exclusively through Analog Haven. Price TBD

INTRODUCING THE EAR MODEL 10 MARK II DUAL DASD/ADSR ENVELOPE GENERATOR :

First look. Obviously the k***s are ancient, the pots aren't fully seated and the pushbuttons haven't been installed (or arrived) yet - but this gives you an idea of what to expect from the mighty Model 10.2

Two fully independent digital voltage controllable Envelope Generators which can configured to be either DASR (Delay/Attack/Sustain Time/Decay) or ADSR with each phase 0-30 seconds and attenuverting output level. User options for linear or log/expo curve, self cycling, gate as sustain time, and manual trigger.

Currently in qualification/beta, 2-3 months until release and available exclusively through Analog Haven. Price TBD

t’s ON. Boards arrive Monday.

This module - an updated version of the original with twice the input channels - marks a bunch of paradigms shifts for me. My good friend Paul Schreiber finally convinced me to stop being a dweeb (my words, not his) and i went four layer. Also - voltage references, OPA op amps and ground planes on all four layers. This one should be silent and unlike the original M9, will only pass audio signals.

It's decided.

I am releasing the Model 9 Mark II 8 channel mixer as a n EAR product. It's already a done deal as PCBs were made for the one in the Toolbox. There will be an optional compliment module - The Model 9A Expander which will add 8 post fader outputs, one each for all of the inputs channels as sends on a 4HP panel which will connect via a flat cable on the back.

The last solder joint…. Model 13 Mini number 200 is done and the last 26 delivered to Analog Haven tonight.

Shawn and I have discussed the possibility of doing another lot, but it’s not been decided. If you were thinking of purchasing an EAR Model 13 Mini, now is the time to order. ItmMay be the last of them.

I’m quite excited about this little Tiptop Audio Buchla skiff I’ve put together for DRONE NOT DRONES: THE RETURN of the 28-hour drone, especially with these Electro-Acoustic Research LPGs and the amazing Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers Flamingo Harmonic Interpolator, which is said to be inspired by the “lost” Buchla Center Clipping synthesis method.
I’m loving how this group of modules feels like they were meant for one another, and the Planar should help with coaxing some of the gentle cresting movement that I’m hoping to coax out of these voices for my set at the drone.
(Peter Grenader, it should be stated that Juno the Dog was here to oversee the whole operation, and this is very much a look of excited approval on her face.)
