Wicked started waaayyyy back in 2007 in a tiny Costa Mesa closet making roller derby uniforms. The uniforms made way for selling protective gear and the protective gear begat skates.
For those first years we had 3-4 total employees and spent them pounding pavement, making jerseys, vending derby games in veterans’s halls and even a few comic cons. The amount of all-nighters pulled is almost egregious.
Wicked would not be where it is today without the support of the roller derby community. From small-time bouts to champs to world cups to after parties, we were there for it all and are so grateful to have been and continue to be a part of it.
Since the days of strictly derby, Wicked has expanded to serving skaters trained in every discipline. As skaters ourselves we started to branch off into park, figure, rhythm and jam skating and were hungry for more.
We’ve spent years training, testing, researching, meeting with manufacturers and tinkering with your setups so we can help every single person who walks through our doors.
We are here for the community! Everyone! No matter your size, shape, age, experience level or follower count, we are here to help you and be more confident in whatever you’re doing. Our doors and hearts are always open to everyone.
Today Wicked operates on both coasts in 3 different locations. We are STILL proudly skater-owned and operated. We run on a total of 8 employees. ! We truly are a family here. We’ve cried, laughed, bled, had mental breakdowns in the parking lot and spent the holidays together. We are beyond grateful for our crew.
