BREAKING: White House accidentally calls Vance a "dumb a**" after his onstage blunder

The White House just insulted its own vice president in front of two million people, and it's the funniest self-own of the year.

JD Vance was in Milwaukee on Wednesday delivering a speech about benefit fraud when he dramatically pointed to a large placard and declared, "Look at this woman in the front with the smug look and the Louis Vuitton bag."

There was just one problem. Nobody could see her. The stage lighting completely washed out the photo, leaving Vance gesturing at what looked like a blank white board while demanding the audience study a woman who was entirely invisible.

MeidasTouch senior digital editor Acyn Torabi posted the awkward six-second clip to his 761,000 followers on X, and that's when things went from embarrassing to legendary.

The White House Rapid Response 47 account, which exists specifically to fight "fake news," apparently thought Torabi had blurred the photo himself. So they fired back at him: "Your dumb a** is shielding a criminal who stole $2.4 million in taxpayer-funded benefits."

Except Torabi didn't blur anything. He posted raw, unedited footage. The person who obscured the photo was JD Vance, who placed the board directly in the glare of the stage lights.

Which means the White House just called its own vice president a "dumb a**" to its two million followers.

MeidasTouch wasted no time pointing it out: "It was Vance who obscured her by placing the board the way he did. The White House essentially just called Vance a 'dumb a**.'" Editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski added that it was a "quality day all around for the WH comms shop."

The Daily Beast reached out to the White House for comment. No word yet on whether they plan to apologize to the vice president they just insulted.
