Getting ready for another trip to Rome. Always gives me so much joy and never enough time to see all I want to.

Finally we can travel from the U.S. to Italy without quarantine. At least for now. I won't be going until October and am excited to get back there. I've got a long list of requests from clients. Hope I can squeeze everything into my suitcases.

Sadly Italy is still fighting for control over covid19. There has been a dramatic increase in the British variety in the last couple of weeks. They are again limiting travel between regions. I am still keeping my fingers crossed about travel by late summer, but ......
Please keep masks on and get vaccinated so we can travel once more.

It really saddens me that the US is being barred from travel to the EU due to our handling of the Covid19 virus. I am somewhat ashamed we are in this position. I can only hope we will get control over this virus so that I may be able to get to Italy this year. 😞

I can't seem to ever get the length of my trips right. It's either too long (5 or 6 weeks), or too short (the upcoming trip is only 2 weeks!). One of these days I'll figure out just the right amount of time --- it seems like never enough each trip.

I have been struggling for days writing a new newsletter to my clients. With all the crazy going on in the world there are new tariffs that will affect most of us coming next week. The US is imposing 25% tariffs on billions of dollars worth of imports from the EU. These include anything from machine parts to clothing. My concern (and it will be yours too in a few weeks) is the tariffs on food items from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the UK. It covers almost all kinds of cheeses and even Spainish olive oil. It won't take long to affect grocery prices but it will hit hard on all the Italian restaurants for sure!
Oh, and since the #1 selling butter is now Kerrygold, that is also on the list.
