Giant Robot 2 is pleased to present Always on My Mind, a solo exhibition by . The exhibition opens on Saturday, June 6, 2026, with artwork becoming available online at 12:00 PM PT.

An online exhibition tour will premiere at noon, followed by gallery opening hours beginning at 1:00pm. An opening reception will take place from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Known for her delicate watercolor paintings and whimsical characters, Kelly Yamagishi creates imaginative worlds where small figures, plants, animals, and memories intertwine. Always on My Mind presents a new body of work exploring themes of nature, reflection, and everyday wonder.

The exhibition will remain on view through July 22, 2026.

Always on My Mind will be presented at Giant Robot 2, located at 2062 Sawtelle Blvd in Los Angeles.

Kelly Yamagishi is a Japanese American illustrator born & raised in SoCal. She enjoys the tactile nature of working traditionally, most often utilizing inks & watercolor to capture the quiet joys of existing & small details.

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Michael Arias’ TEKKONKINKREET returned to theatres in a brand new 4K remaster.

KAIJU SHOW 2026 stomps its way into Giant Robot Gallery this Saturday!! May 30th
The opening reception party is at 6pm - Come meet the artists!
The artwork becomes available for purchase first at 11am PT on giantrobot.com
Check out the live Instagram walk through on at 11am PT same day.
The gallery doors open at 12pm but the main party is from 6-9pm.
Regular gallery hours after that are Thursday-Sunday, 12pm-6pm.

Please welcome our friend Ed Lin at Giant Robot tonight to celebrate his latest novel, The Dead Can’t Make a Living.

Ed Lin will be in conversation with for an evening discussion about the book, writing, and the themes explored in the Taipei Night Market series.

The Dead Can’t Make a Living continues Lin’s acclaimed series, blending crime fiction with observations of culture, identity, and contemporary life. Lin, a three time Asian American Literary Award winner, is known for his compelling storytelling and richly drawn characters.

Jeff Schroeder, a Los Angeles based musician and former member of The Smashing Pumpkins, brings a unique perspective to the conversation, with a background in both music and academia.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.

Giant Robot 2 presents mograg DIRECT – Across the Universe – a group exhibition showcasing artists from Japan’s  mograg gallery. The exhibition opens on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with artwork available online beginning at 12:00 PM PT.

To mark the opening, a live Instagram tour will be hosted at , offering an inside look at the exhibition and participating artists. A reception with the artists will be held at 6:00-9:00 PM.

Bringing mind-blowing art from Tokyo’s mograg gallery directly to GIANT ROBOT in L.A. They are directly from the artist’s mind into this universe, and directly in front of you.

Founded in 2008 by Motoko Ota (Owner) and oki-chu. (Painter / Director), is currently based in Okachimachi, Tokyo. While primarily focusing on painting, it plans and operates exhibitions by artists who are not bound by categories or specific forms of expression, and also develops projects that translate these works into various products.

The gallery’s core concept is “Japanese Lowbrow Art.” Rather than what is considered mainstream “high art,” it embraces art that emerges from its periphery—art of the people. By doing so, the gallery aims to communicate the direct joy and excitement of “drawing” and “viewing” art, offering encounters with what can be described as art driven by personal taste and sensibility.
