Before I opened a small business I was completely oblivious to the level corruption and ineptitude of the government. I believed that a government that claims to be the savior of the environment would put policies in place to help businesses that protect the environment, clean the environment and alleviate environmental damage, flourish and expand. Yet over the 6 years I’ve owned this businesses I have only seen our tax rates increase, our rents spike and any safeguards disappear . Today it is even harder to own and operate a small business, especially ones that make ethical choices to reduce the environmental impact. Over the course of the next couple of years because of this , we will see small businesses after small business get annihilated in this city. We don’t want more words - we want action- we want real, visible things that we can visibly see that support us.
