As the daughter of artist parents - her father, a pioneer in the appropriation movement of the 1960’s, and her mother, a talented photo-realist landscape painter - it was perhaps inevitable that Claire would enter a creative field. She spent her early childhood in upstate New York in a nineteenth century home filled with antiques and art. As a young girl, she studied ballet and then focused on a c

areer in fashion while attending Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles. This exposure to design and art remains a source of inspiration for the poetry in motion that Claire designs today. The Washington Post hails her collection as “proof positive that bridal fashion is keeping up with the runway”… The Los Angeles Times calls her a “Style maven”… and Say Yes to the Dress’ Randy Fenoli confirms, “Claire has a cult following.” Brides across the globe are enamored with her ethereal style and when Priscilla Chan chose an intricate embroidered gown for her nuptials to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Claire Pettibone became a household name. The company and Flagship Salon is housed in The Castle, a historic Los Angeles landmark built in 1928. Claire and Guy are extremely grateful for the opportunity to share this artistic heritage. They live in Los Angeles with their daughter Lorelei.

Inspired by nature in full bloom, the Treasure gown is a celebration of beauty, wonder, and imagination.

Butterflies drift among embroidered florals, leaves sway across layers of lace, and a soft shimmer catches the light like morning dew. Every detail was designed to feel alive, as though the gown itself has been gathered from an enchanted garden.

Photographed here on my daughter, which makes this gown especially dear to my heart. After all, she is my greatest treasure.

Color has always felt deeply personal to me.

I’ve loved creating custom shades and embroideries for my brides, inspired by things as meaningful as the blue of her eyes, the shifting colors of the ocean, or the glow of a yellow diamond. Color can hold emotion and memory in such a beautiful way. It tells a story before a bride even says a word.

And now that brides feel more free to embrace individuality in their weddings, I love exploring all of the possibilities together. Soft ombré silks, colorful florals, custom embroidery palettes… there is so much beauty waiting to be created.

New on the blog, I’m sharing my thoughts on one of my favorite things… colorful wedding gowns.

For me, color has never simply been about making a statement. It’s about emotion, storytelling, and creating something that feels deeply personal to the bride wearing it.

The Meadowsweet gown captures that spirit so beautifully, with layered wildflower embroidery in soft shades of blush, buttercup, sage, and ivory, like a romantic meadow brought to life.
