Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the families and loved ones who carry their memories every day.

We honor the courage of the first responders, the selflessness of those who helped one another, and the countless acts of compassion that emerged from an unimaginable day.

Twenty-five years later, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

🤐 CLASSIFIED. SORT OF.

There are some projects I just can’t talk about.

Which, when you work in marketing, sales and social media, requires an incredible amount of restraint. Sometimes you just want to shout from the mountaintops!

But alas… I’d probably end up in very hot water.
Tarred. Feathered. And, in my case… LAMINATED. 😂

So this is the best I can do. Just a tiny peek behind the curtain at another day of cool iron making its way through Mercury Magnetics. 🎸

Before we give our crew a well earned Monday off, here’s a look at some of the labor behind the tone. 💪🎸

This colorful forest of leads is a fresh run of EG RENEGADE 65 P power transformers, built for the Egnater Renegade 65, a 65 watt, two channel tube amp. 🔥

The power transformer is where the whole show starts, supplying the voltages that bring the amp’s tubes and circuitry to life. ⚡️

Every one of these is wound, assembled, wired and tested right here in our California shop. 🇺🇸🔧

But great tone starts with great iron, and great iron takes skilled hands to build. 💪

Happy Labor Day to our crew and to everyone out there who still takes pride in making things. 🇺🇸

When I first started at Mercury Magnetics, I found these old posters tucked away in a corner. Turns out, they hadn’t even been unpacked since Mercury moved into this building.

Well, that wasn’t going to fly. I dug them out and hung them up immediately.

Are they a little dated? Heck yes. 😂
Some of the copy is completely nuts by today’s standards.

And I absolutely love them!

This is pure old-school guitar-magazine goodness. Loud, weird, funny, slightly inappropriate and unapologetically rock & roll.

I recently cleaned up and restored photos of the originals without changing the artwork or copy. They’re a little piece of Mercury history, and I think they deserve to be seen again.

Oh, and before anybody gets any ideas... the contests, prizes, special prices and free T-shirts are LONG expired.

Unless you have a time machine.

We’re very sad to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

There was nobody quite like her. Behind that unmistakable voice and larger than life personality was a remarkable songwriter, musician, storyteller, and a genuinely generous human being.

We especially love this photograph. Dolly, surrounded by a lifetime of old amplifiers, transformers, wire, iron and wood. All the machinery we obsess over is there, but somehow she reminds us what it’s all for.

We build the things that carry the music. Artists like Dolly give them something worth carrying.

And beyond the music, Dolly showed us how much kindness, humor, generosity, and humility matter. She inspires all of us to be a little better to one another and, simply, to be better people.

She made the world a more musical, colorful, and generous place.

From all of us at Mercury Magnetics, thank you for the songs, Dolly. ❤️
