There are pieces you collect.

And then there are pieces you'll never let go.

For him, it's a collection of basketballs signed by legends like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, David Robinson, and more.

Not because of what they're worth.

Because of the memories behind how he got them.

A hitting coach called Gary Millner and said he needed to sell his World Series ring before leaving for Venezuela.

Gary asked why.

He said if he brought it with him, someone would want to take it. And they would take his arm with it to get it.

Most collectors track what they own.

Very few track why they bought it, what they paid, and what it's worth today.

A simple spreadsheet might not be exciting.

But years from now, you'll be glad you kept one.

One conversation changed everything.

A local eBay seller started moving inventory that had been sitting on the shelves for years.

That's when he realized he wasn't competing with the internet.

He was ignoring it.

That single realization led to over 11,000 items online and transformed the future of the business.

Sometimes growth doesn't come from a grand plan.

Sometimes it starts with watching someone else do it better.

He was just a kid with his dad's camera.

Four steps onto the field. One click of the shutter.

He captured Harmon Killebrew, the ball in mid-air, and a home run all in the same photo.

Security kicked him out of the game.

That photo now hangs in his den, signed by Killebrew himself, and remains the most important piece in his collection.

Some memorabilia can't be bought. It has to be lived.

He took one photo of Harmon Killebrew mid-swing and caught the ball in mid-air as it became a home run. Then security kicked him out. The guard let him back in.

That photo still sits in his den, signed by Killebrew.

A collection without a plan usually ends in disappointment.

The best collectors know exactly what they’re chasing and what they’re not.

And most importantly?
They don’t follow hype.

After 40 years in the business, the fun part still hasn’t changed.

You never know what’s walking through the front door.

A collection.
A memory.
Or something nobody expected to find.
