📣 EHV-1 Positive Case Alert: 📣

There was a positive case of EHV-1 Neurologic form at HITS Culpeper on 4/17/26.

42 horses housed in Barn 5 at the showgrounds have been placed under quarantine by the state vet. The positive horse’s home facility has also been placed under mandated quarantine.

What to do if your horse attended the show?

🌡 Monitor your horse’s temperature twice per day for 14 days. Any horses with a fever (temp greater than 101.5 F) should be tested for EHV-1.

If your horse was not in barn 5, and if you have not been placed under a quarantine by the state vet, then your horse is not considered directly exposed.

Horses with no direct exposure have no mandated movement restrictions at this time.
