This mural represents the vibrant spirit and natural beauty of Clarksville, Indiana. At its center is the town’s logo, symbolizing the community’s identity and pride. Within the logo, I’ve included illustrations that hold special significance, like the tulip tree, which is Indiana’s state tree, as well as the cardinal, the state bird. These elements come together to celebrate both the heritage and the natural environment that make Clarksville unique.
Other illustrations include Rosie the Riviter, Bell Tower,Falls of the Ohio and visitors center and the sculpture that’s in front ( Clark himself), an arrow head, a bison, a street car, and blue heron, a peony, the train bridge, the Clarksville clock, marigolds, cherry blossoms, and if I left anything out, please remind me😂.
It was a lot, y’all! But I enjoyed it very much, and meet some terrific people like Summer from Savoy Fitness, Markus from KPK parkour, the nice lady from the flower shop, over a dozen bike riders who stopped to talk and take pictures, and guy named John and a few other dog walkers who’s names I cannot remember. And to Duc M Do , Amy Elswick,David, Sean, Joe Autry and Ali Rabin, thanks for visiting me while I was working, it was great to see you!
Very special thanks to Cory Hoehn for bringing this idea to me, believing in me (even when I doubted myself) and for understanding how difficult it was. Also, thanks Mark Lapilusa, who helped tremendously by projecting to outline on the building at midnight, and helping to spray the outlines while we were surrounded by lightning, thunder and fast winds!
