āš« We didnāt set out to open a coffee shop. We set out to bring something special back to Loveland - the town that has our heart .
The Cocoa Muse began with chocolate.
When Lovelandās longtime candy store closed its doors, it left a gap in our community, and we wanted to create something that could help fill it.
We partnered with a local chocolatier who has been creating incredible chocolates for more than 30 yearsāand even better, our chocolates are actually made right here in Loveland.
Together, we create all kinds of fun, unique treats exclusively for us that you simply wonāt find in every other chocolate shop.
Things like our exclusive double-dipped sāmores, gluten-free chocolate-dipped Oreos, our āCrispy Mooseāāthink the best Crunch bar youāve ever hadā white chocolate-covered "Polar" gummy bears, buckeyes, and so much more.
We also carefully curate chocolates and confections from a couple of other incredible makers around the country to round out the collection, always looking for the creators that own their market and have been at their craft for decades creating the very best in the world, like our creams, our fudges and our patented truffles that are free of all dyes, artificial flavors, or oils and are all individually hand painted with cocoa butter.
Our goal from the beginning was simple: create a chocolate shop that felt special. A place where you could walk in and discover something you couldnāt just pick up anywhere else.
And in the very beginning, we really only offered one drink.
Our European-inspired Sipping Chocolate. š«
Calling it āhot chocolateā doesnāt really do it justice.
It isnāt made with powder.
It isnāt made with chocolate syrup.
Our Sipping Chocolate begins with actual organic cacao paste, transformed into a rich, velvety liquid chocolate that is thick, decadent, and intensely chocolateyāthe kind of drink you sip slowly and remember afterward.
And, of course, we offered the option to add a shot of espresso.
Which meant we had an espresso machine.
And thatās when our customers started asking:
āSince you already have the machineā¦ could you make me a latte?ā
Then a cappuccino.
Then an Americano.
Then someone wanted their favorite coffee drink.
And little by little, coffee started taking on a life of its own. ā
The funny thing is, while becoming a coffee shop was never part of our original plan, coffee has always been a genuine passion of the people who created The Cocoa Muse.
We are coffee lovers. The particular kind.
We care about the beans, the roast, the balance, the aroma, and what that first sip actually tastes like.
So once we decided that coffee was going to become a real part of The Cocoa Muse, there was no chance we were simply going to choose an ordinary house coffee or something already on the roasters rooster and call it a day.
We worked with a local roaster to create our own coffee blend exclusively for us.
Our Cocoa Muse Luxe Blend combines equal parts French Roast Sumatran, Guatemalan Estate, and Colombian Supremo beans.
The result is a smooth, full-bodied coffee with beautiful smoky, chocolate, and caramel notesābold enough to stand up beautifully to cream or milk, yet balanced enough to enjoy completely black.
And you literally cannot get it anywhere else.
It is locally roasted.
It was created exclusively for us.
And it belongs to this little shop here in Loveland. š¤
Our espresso received the same level of thought. Rather than using our house coffee for everything, we chose a completely separate, lighter Northern Italian-inspired Arabica espresso blend with notes of citrus and nuttiness and a beautifully clean but decidedly bold finish.
Because if we were going to serve coffee, we wanted to do it the same way we approached chocolate:
Thoughtfully. Locally. Creatively. And exceptionally well.
What began as a little chocolate shop has slowly grown into something we never completely anticipated.

It has truly been a labor of love.
Our customers helped shape what The Cocoa Muse has become, and we think there is something incredibly special about that.
So whether you come in for a box of chocolates made right here in Loveland, one of the fun creations made exclusively for us, a European Sipping Chocolate, your favorite latte, a cup of our Luxe Blend, or an afternoon spent over tea (we will tell our tea story soon as it is made on a family farm in Alabama!), know that the things we serve were chosen and created with intention.
Because we donāt want The Cocoa Muse to feel like just another coffee shop or chocolate shop.
We want it to feel like your local place.
A place where the chocolates are created exclusively for us, the coffee was blended exclusively for us, and you always feel welcome to stay awhile. āš«āØ
