Eckard Shop Woodworking projects I am not the Craftsman my father was.

My projects never come out as I initially visioned them, because the Engineer in me makes them better as I go, fixes mistakes that do not fit the initial vision, and sometimes the wood grain just wants to show off.

I do a lot of woodworking, but I have other hobbies too. This old mill was at one of the stops on a 500 mile motorcycle trip over the last two days. I was worried, because the new bike does not have a radio, but I am of the age that I have plenty of voices in my head to keep me company!

The customer wanted one set for meat and cheeses and one for veggies. The trays come out of the stand so they can be taken to the kitchen to be refilled and to make cleaning easier. This was quite the challenge but I am very pleased with how they turned out.

This morning I did my first real lathe work since my eye surgery. All went well as far as the eyes were concerned, the bowl jumped out of the Cole chuck once so there are a couple dings. Life is full of dings so all is good!
Usually I would turn the k**b, but today for a change of pace I used a drawer pull, may have to do that again I like it.
