Happy August! Wanted to share this pattern by local designer Rhonda Craven. Looks like a great pattern and it is made with Briggs & Little Regal. We have stocked this yarn for 18 years nows and it never disappoints. Great sweater yarn. We just did a restock thanks to Maritime Family Fiber - a very local company run by Rhonda’s daughter Lacie. And it truly is a family effort - Lacie’s husband Dave (model for this pattern) always hand delivers the yarn to Wags!

This pattern comes with two different types of collars. Both are included in this pattern.

Ellie is a 30 lb, female, black lab mix, all black in color and wearing a hot pink collar. She is 8 months old and described as friendly but DO NOT CHASE. Good Afternoon Peeps! Loose Ends has reached out to yarn shops so we can help spread the word about their wonderful work. They are made up of volunteer knitters who will finish projects that loved ones were working on that can’t be completed due to death, illness or disability. What a gift - especially for a person with someone in this situation who does not knit. If you know of someone please pass this on. Spread the word and if you are a knitter with a little time on your hands you can also volunteer to finish a project for someone. Again, all volunteer - just a great gift for someone who can use it. Thank you!

Happy Bay of Fundy International Marathon Weekend - woohoo!! For me one of the best weekends of the year. The runners and their guests are just the best. Good luck to everyone racing this year including Number One daughter Reegan Hebert and her hubby Nick! Proud Papa Michael Brown will be cheering them on - loud and proud! Come down and join the fun. Wags will be open Friday through Monday 11 to 4. And in the spirit of sport I found these tartan bags in the shop so why not - Hail to the Tartan Army that has taken over the city of Boston! The Scots certainly know how to celebrate.

Wags and Wool will be open this Friday(June 12th) and Saturday (June 13th) from 11 to 4 each day. Just returned from an amazing two weeks in Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Wanted to share my “acquisitions”!! Had to buy another backpack to get it all home. Two sweaters - one handknit with Icelandic Wool from The Handknitters Association of Iceland and the other handknit out of Faroese wool. And then all of the yarn is from either Iceland or the Faroes. Icelandic wool, Faroese wool and also some cashmere from Icelandic goats that we were able to meet. This trip was such an education. Went to sheep farms and the goat farm and had an amazing tour of the Lopi facility where all the magic happens. So many great experiences that just provided so much inspiration for my future making. And last final fun fact - for those of you of a certain age - Isabella Rossellini was also on the trip with us. We all know her from her modeling and acting but she is also passionate about sheep and preserving many of the ancient breeds hence her interest in going to Iceland and The Faroes. She has a farm in New York State - Mama Farm. Check it out - doing great work there. I could go on and on. Hope you enjoy my “eye candy” pic! And don’t forget - Lubec Market on Saturday - 10 to 12. Thank you to everyone who stopped at Wags and Wool this past weekend. So fun to be open again and to talk all things yarn with you! And when a nine week old Golden puppy makes an appearance well what else is there! Wags will reopen on Friday, June 12th and Saturday, June 13th as the Proprietor(that be me), my Sister and one of our Besties are headed out to Iceland and the Faroe Islands for an amazing guided knitting tour. So looking forward to exploring this part of the world and we will be hitting some very small sheep farms where we get to meet the sheep and the amazing folks that raise them and then process their fleece. I am sure we will be bringing home lots of wool to add to our stashes. I had intended to finish this Salmon Run sweater before the trip but instead decided to treat myself to an authentic Icelandic sweater knit locally. The Handknitting Association of Iceland will be our first stop! So thanks for your patience while we are away and look forward to seeing everyone when we return. Happy knitting everyone!

Wags and Wool will be open this Friday( May 22nd) and Saturday (May 23rd) from 11 to 4 - the start of Season 18 - can hardly believe it! The yarn has awoken from its long winter’s nap. If you are in town please stop in. And don’t forget the first Lubec Market of the season on Saturday. Hope to see you!
