Known for their iconic “forehead hump” (nuchal hump) that develops as males mature, Blue Dolphins are peaceful for Malawi standards and prefer living in groups. Feed high-quality cichlid pellets, spirulina, krill, and occasional frozen foods to promote color and steady growth.

Best Buddies:
Works well in a Malawi setup with other mild-mannered Haps and Peacocks that won’t bully them. Avoid aggressive Mbuna that may outcompete or harass them. Ideal in tanks 75+ gallons, especially once adults.

We had the pleasure of working with Sabine Pass ISD and Kirk Blood on implementing a solution to raise and lower their (6) EcoTech XR30s lights automatically.

Previously the lights were stationary on a bar that sagged under the weight of just (5) lights. Being low to the tank also got in the way of maintenance and placing corals.

Using T-slot aluminum rails, a HD rotary motor, and stainless hardware / cabling, we created a sturdy frame that could be pulled up and down with a remote.

We had another great day at Wet Pets and closed it out with the Opae Ula Shrimp ecosystems build.

Thank you Gigi for putting these on, there have been so many people interested in it.

We are skipping next Saturday and then have another Opae Ula workshop scheduled for Sept 26th, 4:30pm

Once we get a little closer to that date we will add a few more sign ups for future dates. The 26th is full currently but if anyone ends up dropping off we will let everyone know.
