We started loving play dough just over 6 whole years ago!! Leo was 18 months and had just started speech therapy. They told me he was especially engaged when they used play dough!!
I always thought play dough was messy, it’s not! I thought you need tons of tools and special kits to make it fun, you don’t!! You just need to let them play!! Modeling play with your kiddo and talking through what you're doing helps build language skills , all while making meaningful memories together at the same time!
Roll a snake and tell them to copy you “can you ROLL your dough like me?” When you open your container, ask them “can you OPEN your dough?” Tell them the colors you see and the textures you feel! Every squeeze, roll, pinch, and squish becomes an opportunity to learn!
