Our 2026 Luray Commemorative Christmas Ornament is now officially available at Virginia Gift Shop! Just in time to start thinking of Christmas 2026 gifts or adding to your Commemorative Luray Ornament Collection!
This year we are honoring The Luray Volunteer Fire Department’s 125 years of service to our community. LVFD was organized on January 23, 1901, as two companies — one serving Luray's east end and one the west, with Hawksbill Creek as the dividing line.
In 1928, the two companies were reorganized as one department. Two years later, the firehouse pictured on this commemorative ornament was built on Vogt Place for $6,000. In that same year, LVFD purchased its first motorized fire engine - a 1930 American LaFrance pumper, which was also the first motorized piece of fire equipment in Page County.
For 125 years, generations of volunteers have answered the call, continuing a tradition that began in the days of bucket brigades and has endured through more than a century of change.
Ornaments are $30 each and can be purchased in store or online using the Google form link below! $5 dollars from each ornament sale will be donated back to the Fire Department.
