Our favorite picture of the day is also our last doggie visitor.

Tito came with his humans to pick up a bedframe. He was not averse to being petted.

"Buy one, or buy 'em all, don't make no nevermind to us," Tex said.

"What did he just say?" The Other Guy asked.

"Not sure," Truman said.

Delilah and Tallulah came to visit us this morning. They seemed willing to stay s long as they could, provided we continued scratching them, but eventually, we had to get back to work and their humans had to move to the next aisle to shop.

INSIDE THE RESTORE:
FINAL BABY BIRD EDITION

WE saw Mama Wren coaxing the babies to the portal to the outside yesterday, but they were still chirping away last night when The ReStore closed.

This morning, we opened the door to silence, and in our hearts, we truly knew the literal meaning of "empty nest." Our three little Carolina Wrens have moved to the great outdoors.

It had to happen, and we knew it, but we will still miss them.

Next, we had to put a temporary seal on the hole in the wall through which Mama bird entered. A previous patch had apparently come off in a storm at some point. We'll get a more m=permanent patch on later, but we wanted to prevent the birds from returning and deciding to make the interior of The ReStore their permanent abode.

We hope to see them around the neighborhood.

IF you've never had a family of young Carolina Wrens living in your space, let us clue to into what it's like.

You know how your smoke detector eventually runs down the battery and starts chirping once about every thirty seconds or so?

Yep, that's it.

Chirp. Chirp. Chirp. Chirp. Chirp. Chirp.

Repeat 1000 times.

But we're glad to have them.

(Okay, we completely stole that line from Benny Hill)

If you have small tiling projects, we're your huckleberry.

Tiles are usually about $1 per square foot. Mosaic tile sheets are $3 per sheet.

We often have enough for large projects; it depends on the day and donations. We always have enough for smaller or patching projects

BOID UPDATE:
THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT

The babies are chirping for Mama--mostly because it's mealtime, but they're getting awfully close to that exit.

YESSIR, it's a floor torch lamp, and what a lamp. Gleaming metal all the way up to the translucent shade. Thick and sturdy. Now that we get to thinking about it, we might need it in our living room. Better come get it quick!
