Lynchburg Cash Mob

The basic idea is for a mob of people to show up on a given date and/or time with a commitment to spend $10 - $20 cash at a local merchant. We are there to show our appreciation and support for the small business person in our community. We ask that you bring cash (and do not bring any coupons) to the event so the merchant gets 100% of the proceeds without having to pay any fees or lose money due to coupon discounts. The fallout from the event gives an immediate cash infusion, but also provides publicity and repeat business as people see the quality and goods available. The actual Cash Mob location will be revealed on our page the week prior to the Mob. A Facebook event will be created and attendees encouraged to sign up in advance. Here is our 2014 schedule: Saturday, February 8, 10:30am - Sweetheart Deals, do all your shopping for that special someone! Saturday, April 12, 10:30am - How does your Garden Grow? Get ready for spring plantings! May 12 - 16 small business week (NO MOB THIS WEEK, but local shopping will be strongly promoted for Mobbers this week) Saturday, June 14, 10:30am - Independence day shopping, shopping to help you party-hardy on the 4th! Saturday, August 9, 10:30am - Dog days of summer, even though it's hot, Cash Mobs are always cool! Friday night October 24, 6:00pm - Costume Mob Party, dress up in costume and help us celebrate a local business! Saturday, December 13, 10:30am - Ugly Sweater Mob, get into the spirit with your ugliest holiday sweater. (You know, the one your favorite aunt gave you!)
