This little guy needs a name!

Our newest bull calf needs a name! His mom is Eyebrows because she has white eyebrows on a mostly black face and they stick out. She’s a cutie and so is her baby.

It’s another busy morning around the farm! The cows are doing their thing, the chickens are keeping the eggs coming, and there’s always a chore waiting to be done. We wouldn’t have it any other way!

Today is also National Son’s & Daughter’s Day, so it’s a good day to be thankful for our children and the blessing of family. ❤️ No matter how old they get, they’ll always be our babies!

A quick reminder—the farm stand will not be open this week, but the Mercantile is still taking orders! If you need bread, cookies, cinnamon rolls, or any of your other favorites, just reach out. We’ll be happy to get you taken care of.

This week has definitely been action-packed around the farm! There have been lots of new things happening, plenty of work to keep us busy, and never a dull moment.

Our girls are picking up in egg production, and they are surely keeping us busy! The eggs are coming faster every day, which means there’s always something to do in the chicken houses. We’re thankful to see them settling in and doing what they’re supposed to do!

One thing about farm life—our animals aren’t the only animals we get to see! When you live right in the middle of the woods, you never know what might wander by. From deer and turkeys to geese and the occasional cowbird, there’s always a little extra wildlife around to keep things interesting!

Some days you just have to stop what you’re doing and enjoy the view. We’re thankful for another busy week, all the little surprises that come with country living, and the opportunity to call this place home.

We hope y’all have a wonderful weekend! Take a little time to slow down, enjoy the simple things, and soak up the blessings around you.

Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know that hay is one of the most important food sources for cattle?

While cows love grazing on fresh pasture, hay helps provide the nutrients they need when grass isn’t as plentiful. That’s why farmers put up hay during the growing season—to make sure their animals have plenty to eat year-round.

Years ago, we used to cut, rake, and bale all of our own hay for our herd. These days we purchase our hay, but we still appreciate the hard work that goes into every bale. It takes a lot of time, the right weather, and dedicated farmers to produce quality hay.

Every bale represents hours of work and helps keep cattle healthy and well-fed. The next time you pass a field dotted with those big round bales, you’ll know they’re more than just part of the scenery—they’re food for the months ahead!

Fun Question: Have you ever ridden on a hay wagon or helped stack hay? We’d love to hear your favorite farm memory in the comments!

Farm life doesn’t slow down… and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

We started the morning in the kitchen getting your orders baked, packed, and delivered. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our little farm and mercantile—it truly means the world to us!

Now it’s time to switch hats and head to the chicken houses.

Our girls have officially started laying, and they’re picking up speed every single day! Watching those first eggs come in is such an exciting milestone, and we can’t wait to see what the weeks ahead have in store.

From the kitchen to the farm, every day looks a little different, but we’re thankful for every order, every customer, and every blessing God has given us.

“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
— Colossians 3:23 ❤️

Thank y’all for following along on this journey with us. The best is yet to come!
