⚡ Stay Safe & Prepared During Winter Power Outages! ❄️
When snow or ice storms knock out the power, it can be stressful — but a few smart steps can protect your home, your food, and your appliances!
Here are a few quick tips from Appliance Liquidation Outlet to help you weather the storm:
Keep Refrigerator Doors Closed – Each time you open the door, cold air escapes. A full fridge can stay cold for about 4 hours; a full freezer for up to 48 hours!
Unplug/Turn off Breakers to Sensitive Electronics – When power returns, surges can damage your appliances. Unplug or turn off the breakers to items like TVs, microwaves, refrigerators and washers.
Don’t plug everything back in immediately! Wait a few minutes after the power is stable to avoid a power spike.
Use Generators Safely – Only operate generators outdoors and away from windows and doors to avoid carbon monoxide buildup.
Plan Ahead – If you know a storm is coming, lower your refrigerator’s temperature a bit to help it stay colder longer.
At Appliance Liquidation Outlet, we’re here to make sure your home runs smoothly — before, during, and after severe weather. Stay safe, stay warm, and remember: we’ve got the appliances and advice you can count on.
Stay safe and warm!
