Hi everyone we wanted to let everyone know we will be closing at 4:00 pm on Thursday may 21 for August’s celebration of life

Alexander “August” Malcolm Lonie, age 27, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Born on February 17, 1999, in Elkhart, Indiana, he was the only son of Nicole (Hutchison) and Johnathan Lonie. A devoted son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend, he brought warmth and kindness wherever he went.
August cared deeply for animals and was always helping others, passions he lovingly blended during his time at Macclenny Pets and Supplies. Beyond his compassion, he was a gifted self taught musician, gracefully playing the piano and guitar, sharing his bright spirit through music. His radiant charisma was a true light in this world, one that will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
August was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Hutchison. He will be forever remembered by his parents, Johnathan and Nicole Lonie; sisters, Coral Rossi (Andrew) of Indiana, McKenzie Artka (Jeremy) of Indiana, and Emmilee Lonie of Macclenny; nieces, Mary Hutchison, Naomi Bellamy, and Erika Rossi; nephew, Andrew Rossi; and grandparents, Janet and Steve Lonie and Mary Hutchison; along with countless friends he made along the way.
A Celebration of August’s Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Blackburn-Curry Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

EDIT: For those of you who have privately messaged me asking of the funeral home to make donations privately, we have just received word that Blackburn Curry Funeral Home in Macclenny will be taking care of Augusts farewell.

If you want to still donate directly to the funeral home, the young mans last name is Lonie.

Thank you again, for all of the outpouring of love that each and every one of you have shown. You will never know how much it means. ❤

This is never an easy post to make, but here we are. Earlier this week, August was discovered by his mother, deceased. He had been deceased for a couple of days by this point. There are no conclusions as of yet as to how he passed. This young man was 27 years old. His entire world ahead of him. Anyone who knows me, knows that I rarely ever ask for help. However, if I need to take a knee and beg this go round, I will. This young man was much loved by those who knew him.

Unfortunately, love alone will now allow his family to give him a proper goodbye. If at all possible, share this out.

I know this isn't a young man who has a million followers, or is from some well-known last name, or stupid popular, that would make everyone rush to help. He was a regular, everyday person. He had hopes, dreams, and people who love him just the same.
