🏡✨ WHAT A WEEKEND! ✨🏡
We want to send a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to our latest Pickin Chicks Estate Sale! What a weekend! We received so many wonderful compliments, saw so many familiar faces, and met plenty of new ones too. ❤️
This was a special estate for us to handle, and we loved seeing so many beautiful pieces leave for their next chapter. Now we’re back at the shop, filling it with estate treasures, one-of-a-kind finds, and amazing new gifts!
And speaking of a piece’s next chapter, we received one incredible story from a customer this weekend that we just had to share!
🏛️ FROM ONE HISTORIC HOME TO ANOTHER…
Kurt Jacob Miller recently purchased the historic Rawleigh Mansion in Freeport, built in 1908, with plans to carefully restore this massive beauty.
Here’s where the story gets even better…
Kurt and I haven’t seen each other since middle school in the ’80s! This weekend, our paths crossed again when he purchased three amazing pieces from our estate sale. Those pieces will now become part of the Rawleigh Mansion restoration project! How cool is THAT?! ❤️
There is something pretty special about watching beautiful old pieces leave one home and knowing they’re headed somewhere they’ll be appreciated, preserved, and given another life. That is exactly what The Pickin Chicks is all about.
We can’t wait to follow Kurt’s progress as he brings this incredible Freeport landmark back to life. Be sure to check out the Rawleigh Mansion Restoration Project on Facebook and Instagram and follow along with the transformation!
And now we want to hear from YOU! 📸 If you purchased something from our estate sale, show us where it landed! Post a picture in the comments of how you decorated with it, repurposed it, or plan to use it. We LOVE seeing where the treasures go next.
Every old piece has a story. Sometimes we’re lucky enough to get to be part of the next chapter. 🗝️🏡❤️
