It’s hard to believe it’s been just over six years since we said goodbye to Grandpa Don and Grandma Janice ❤️

When we created our Heritage Collection, we wanted it to tell the stories of the people who shaped our family. This Hearth Plaid was inspired by my grandma and grandpa - two very different people whose lives were woven together by love, hard work, and unwavering commitment.

After five generations, we wanted to create something that told the story of how we got here.

The five stripes represent the five generations of the Wallis family who have cared for this land since Fred R. Wallis homesteaded it more than a century ago.

Happy Father’s Day!

Some of the strongest foundations in our lives are built by the people who quietly keep showing up.

I’m especially grateful for the fathers who continue to pour their time, energy, wisdom, and love into our family every day. Whether it’s helping on the farm, supporting the store, showing up for ballgames, lending a hand when something needs fixing, or simply being present, their impact reaches farther than they probably realize.

Lake Superior Woolen Company is rooted in family, and we’re thankful for the men who help keep those roots strong.

To all the fathers and father figures who lead through steady presence rather than recognition - thank you. ❤️

The store has been a little quieter and we have been less present lately, but life certainly hasn’t.

Between an engagement, a graduation, another senior year coming up, open houses, family, and trying to soak in these moments before they become memories, we’ve been keeping busy.

This little business has always been about more than wool. It’s about family, heritage, hard work, and the seasons that shape us.

A quick note from our family:

Lake Superior Woolen Company will be closed from 4:00–7:00 PM on Saturday as we take a little time away from the shop to celebrate a very special family moment.

Our oldest daughter recently became engaged, and we’re gathering with family to celebrate her and her fiancé as they begin this beautiful new chapter together.

As many of you know, this little business has always been rooted in family, and we’re incredibly grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us through so many of life’s milestones. Watching our children grow and build lives of their own is one of the greatest gifts, and we’re excited to welcome a wonderful young man into our family.

Thank you for understanding while we step away for a few hours to celebrate.

Yesterday felt like a beautiful reminder that everything is connected.

We gathered in the barn for sound, stillness, and community. The bowls sang, the lambs wandered curiously among us, and a group of wonderful people chose to slow down and simply be present.

As I watched the afternoon unfold, I couldn’t help but think about the thread that ties it all together. Some of our guests own blankets made from the wool raised on this farm. Yesterday, they found themselves surrounded by the next generation of lambs who will continue that story.

The land.

The sheep.

The wool.

The lambs.

The people.

All connected.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a special afternoon. On a centennial farm, surrounded by new life and old stories, it felt a little like magic. For anyone who I wasn’t able to tag, please feel free to tag yourself ❤️
