Duty, Honor, Country & Life: A Tribute to the American Spirit
Admiral William H McRaven

From the author of Make Your Bed, The Hero Code and The Wisdom of the Bullfrog, comes an uplifting selection of the Admiral's speeches, letters, toasts and poems that capture the essence of who we are as Americans.

Admiral McRaven's famous 2014 "Make Your Bed" speech at the University of Texas went viral with over 150 million views. Now, for the first time ever, comes a collection of his other speeches and writings that will inspire and motivate young and old readers alike. With his unique writing style, each speech is a story recalling acts of heroism, courage, sacrifice, and a sense of duty, honor, and country. These speeches include tributes to soldiers, Navy SEALs, law enforcement officers, doctors, public servants, Boy Scouts, graduating students, that game of football, and "Irishmen."

Full of inspiration and wisdom, Duty, Honor, Country, and Life is a reminder to us all of our time-honored American values of civility and decency--and a reflection on what these values mean for the future of our country.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Classic Gift Edition
A. A. Milne (Author), Ernest H. Shepard (Illustrated by)

A gorgeous new collectible edition of the beloved classic, Winnie-the-Pooh, crafted as a replica of the first American edition from 1926. This elegant book features a textured case, gold foil stamping, and illustrated endpapers.

For a century, Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends—Piglet, Owl, Tigger, and the ever doleful Eeyore—have endured as the unforgettable creations of A.A. Milne, who wrote this book for his son, Christopher Robin, and Ernest H. Shepard, who lovingly gave Pooh and his companions shape through his illustrations.

How a Bear Became a Book: The Collaboration That Created Winnie-the-Pooh
Annette Bay Pimentel (Author), Faith Pray (Illustrated by)

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Winnie-the-Pooh with this gorgeous picture book about the creation of the World's Most Famous Bear!

In 1926, the very first Winnie-the-Pooh book was published. One hundred years later, generations of kids have grown up in the Hundred Acre Wood.

How a Bear Became a Book tells the story of how writer, illustrator, and editor came together to craft Pooh's first adventure. But deeper than that, this book introduces our youngest readers to how stories begin and where they can go. As Pooh's voice enters the text, he slowly comes to life in the art.

Textually delightful and visually stunning, this is a picture book about the making of picture books, but it is also a masterful exploration of ideas, storytelling, collaboration, art, and most importantly, honey.

I just got a call from this month's headliner, Barak Hill, who let me know that he has to cancel due to laryngitis! I am so sorry to hear this because he is a fine performer and an excellent writer.

Due to the last minute nature of the situation, we will go to our fallback position. I'll take over the slot as headliner for tomorrow's show. I just finished a 5 day run at the Sandwich Fair and will perform a variety of material I rarely do at Hickory Ridge, the Carter Family, Jimmy Rogers etc, and I will bring out all the toys... the skinhead banjo, the hammer dulcimer, the resonator guitars and anything else that strikes my fancy. I'll also perform things I don't normally do at Hickory Ridge. It will be a fun night!
