🎨✨ THE MONTH ISN’T OVER YET… AND NEITHER IS THE FUN! ✨🎨

We still have some GREAT classes coming up this month, and our instructors are ready to create with you!

Here’s the thing — our classes do need to meet a minimum number of registrations in order to run. So if you’ve been looking at a class and thinking, “I should sign up for that…” — THIS IS YOUR SIGN! 🙌

Grab your friend. Bring your mom. Plan a date night. Come with coworkers. Or come by yourself and meet some new creative friends! ❤️

Our instructors put so much into planning these experiences, and there is nothing better than seeing a room full of people laughing, creating, learning something new and just enjoying a night out.

There’s something really special happening behind the scenes at Michigan Roots. ❤️

We’re still working with one of our talented makers on the possibility of taking over the Shoppe, and while those conversations continue, our focus remains exactly where it has always been — THE MAKERS.

And with the holiday season coming? 🎄✨ We’re ready to make it a GREAT one.

Our shelves will continue to be filled with handmade gifts, Michigan-inspired treasures, one-of-a-kind finds and creations made by people right here in our communities. Every purchase you make here supports a maker who took an idea, added a whole lot of creativity, and made something with their own two hands.

So while we work on what the next chapter of Michigan Roots may look like, we aren’t sitting around waiting for it.

We’re filling shelves.
We’re welcoming new makers.
We’re planning for the holidays.
And we’re going to have some FUN doing it! 🎁🙌

Okay, makers… things are getting exciting around here! ❤️🤍💙

We’ve signed on quite a few NEW vendors this week, and I am SO excited to see all the new creativity making its way into the Shoppe!

But we’re not done yet. 👀

If you’ve been thinking about putting your handmade items into a local shop, testing out retail, or simply getting your creations in front of more people — come join us!

🏠 Current spaces available:
✨ Half Space — $40/month
✨ Full Space — $80/month

I’ll be at the Shoppe this Friday, so if you’d rather stop in, see the space and chat face-to-face, come on by! I would love to meet you, hear about what you make, and talk about how we can showcase your creations.

You know what I think we need more of?

Places that are just FUN to wander through.

No giant shopping cart. No endless aisles. No grabbing the exact same thing everyone else already has.

Just a little shoppe filled with things that make you stop and say…

“Okay, who MADE this?!” 😂

That’s Michigan Roots.

Every shelf has a different personality. Every corner has something you probably didn’t come in looking for. And behind all of it is a Michigan maker who had an idea, made something with their own two hands, and trusted our little shoppe to share it with you.

So this Tuesday, here’s your reminder:

🧶🐾 BEGINNER CROCHET IS COMING UP MONDAY, AUGUST 17! 🐾🧶

We have TWO chances to join us for a fun beginner-friendly crochet class!

🐱 2:00 PM — Avocato Catfé in Farmington Hills
🧶 6:00 PM — Hazel Park Recreation Center

During class, we’ll be learning some beginner crochet stitches while making adorable little cat toys!

And here’s the best part… you don’t even need to have a cat to join us! ❤️

If you’ve been wanting to learn how to crochet, this is a perfect, fun project to get you started. Don’t have a furry friend at home? Make your toy and donate it to your favorite animal shelter, rescue, or cat-loving friend! 🐾

Come learn something new, meet some great people, and spend a little time creating with us!

🇺🇸 MONDAY THOUGHT… HOW COOL IS THIS?! 🇺🇸

Think about this for a minute…

Inside one little Michigan shoppe, you can walk from space to space and discover the work of local makers who all create something completely different.

That’s pretty incredible. ❤️

These aren’t products ordered from a catalog or shipped in by the case. They started in someone’s workshop, kitchen, craft room, garage or studio — right here in Michigan.

Someone had an idea.
Someone figured out how to make it.
Someone took a chance and decided to sell it.

And somehow, we get the privilege of putting it on our shelves for you to discover.

THAT is one of my favorite things about Michigan Roots.

You never quite know what you’re going to find when you walk through the door — and chances are, the person who created it lives a whole lot closer than you think!

So when you shop here, take your time. Look around. Pick things up. Read the maker names. Ask us who made something.

Because there are some seriously talented people tucked into communities all around us…

Now THAT is something worth being proud of on a Monday. 🌳
