By this time of the weekend, we’d be posting videos and photos with you and all of the smiles and visits we would’ve had at Spring Market in Jackson. That’s not the case this year. As you’ve probably seen, a fire happened Friday night in a booth which caused the cancellation of the show. The damage will no doubt be in the MILLIONS once clean up and vendor losses are calculated. For vendors like us, it’s simply devastating. No vendor was spared.
Every product, no matter how big or small, was damaged by an unbelievable amount of soot and ash. (The bottom of this photo shows our popular car perfume bags blackened with soot.) The smell of smoke on everything is overwhelming. It’s can’t be repackaged and sold. Our customers deserve the best…premium products; not damaged goods.
Being a company that creates our products by hand, it takes weeks and sometimes months, to make our candles, laundry detergent, rooms sprays, toilet sprays, wax melts and car perfumes. It will take time to create and replace what was lost for the Canton Flea Market coming up May 14.
So many vendors are discovering what insurance will pay for and what insurance won’t. That will be a journey in itself.
Good News Candle Company, just like the “good news,” doesn’t stop just because of a set back. It eventually gets its voice back.
