Book Haven Madison

10/12/2026

✨Reminder!✨ We can take preorders for the upcoming books you’re excited about! It’s helpful for both you and us because it helps us know how many copies of a particular book to order and guarantees you a copy as soon as it’s available.

If you’re one of the many people highly anticipating A Court of Splintered Harmony you can preorder that now (https://www.bookhavenco.com/products/a-court-of-splintered-harmony?_pos=1&_psq=A+court+of&_psid=d3af184ef&_ss=e) and not stress about us running out of copies before you make it in.

If you are excited for an under the radar book that isn’t getting lots of buzz we can get that as well (and we love a hidden gem!). If the book is not already on our website just send us a message on social media, call in to the store, stop in, or email [email protected] and we’ll get you squared away. Thank you for your support and wanting to shopping local—we appreciate you all so much!

Wow... blown away by the quality of applicants to our cleaning and sales job! I don't have the time to properly reply and interact with each of you! But just know that Ally and I hope to build this business for years to come in Madison and maybe beyond!

I do get inquiries from other owners occasionally needing cleaning help and will pass along if I do...

Keep y'all!

This week is National Banned Book Week and we are emphasizing the need to protect the freedom to choose what you read with our front display this week!

UPDATE: Not accepting any more applications. Thank you to everyone who replied!

We're hiring a cleaner / sales associate! 🧹 📚

With Ally and Stephanie off galavanting the globe (separately: Ally is seeing our new twin grandbabies in Utah and Steph is with her family), it's time to buckle down and think about our business. With the launch of our 2nd floor vacation rental and the continued success of our bookstore 🙏, we're in need of a reliable person to handle our weekly cleaning / guest turnovers (typically on Mondays but can be anytime afternoon or night) with the potential to help us out behind the counter in the store or with inventory (primarily Thursday - Saturday afternoons). The right person could also help do sales outreach to regional businesses to rent our 3rd floor for off-sites and team-building retreats pitching BH and Madison as THE place to visit!

However, because our need is 80% cleaning / 20% bookstore at the moment, anyone who applies should be ready to make our Book Haven Suite sparkle, first and foremost.

(What's the pay? There's a chance to make a few hundred bucks a week for someone who wants to work 10-12 hours each week in our little "book-tel"!)

DM me or send me an email at [email protected] if you're interested.

And BTW, we now have outdoor seating!

Had a great time at Madison Indiana Presbyterian Church listening to Jonathan Cheng talk about Madison's own Samuel Moffett helping bring Christianity to Korea.

We have one copy of Korean Messiah left in the store, but will most likely be ordering more!

Gyro Dude is out front making amazing gyro sandwiches for the Horror at the Ohio film festival, and the Book Haven Friday date night crew is taking full advantage!

These sandwiches ROCK!!

Come by for a tasty read!

Are you attending the Horror at the Ohio Film Festival that our neighbors Ohio Theatre are holding today and tomorrow? It sounds like it will be an epic event! We filled part of our front display with some literary nods to the vibes—including several kid friendly options if you want to bring anything back to the mini scare seekers in your life.
