Meet the Artist: Eric Kayquaptewa. Born and raised on Hopi Third Mesa in Hotevilla, Eric learned the art of carving from his father, grandfather, brother and cousins at 15. Inspired by katsinam, Eric puts his “good feelings” into every doll. Featured at RedTail Gallery, this 13 1/4" cottonwood root carving of Masau katsina is finished with feathers and bone.

Born in Alaska, Jack Sabon is an Ahtna Athabascan artist whose work reflects a deep connection to tradition. A graduate with honors from the Institute of American Indian Arts and the Maine College of Art, Jack now creates from his studio in Vermont.

Featured at RedTail Gallery are two remarkable handmade deer hide drums, Sea Turtle (2025) and Shaman (2024), each hand-painted and thoughtfully crafted, transforming a traditional instrument into a powerful work of art.
