Let’s do something sweet for Mitzi & Tom. 🍭

Since we first came to Madison, Mitzi has been our friend.

Over the years, we’ve dressed her and her husband, Tom, for weddings, big events and special moments. We’ve laughed together, talked shop together and watched each other’s businesses grow. They are part of our Madison story, and we love them dearly.

But right now, they’re going through a hard time.

Tom has been dealing with serious health complications while also recovering from an accident. After 14 years at Attic to Basement, Mitzi is closing the doors this Saturday so she can spend her time where she needs to be, taking care of her husband.

We stopped by Attic To Basement today and bought a few things for our shops, and we hope our friends, neighbors and fellow shop owners will do the same this week. Everything is at least 50% off, and helping Mitzi clear out the shop is one simple way we can make this transition a little easier for them.

And please keep supporting Sugar On Main at the Trolley Barn. That part of Mitzi’s story isn’t ending, and we want to see it continue for many years to come.

We’ve also been talking with some of our friends about how we can come together and help.

For the rest of this week, Betty Jeffries and James Dell will donate a portion of our sales directly to Mitzi and Tom. On Saturday, our friend Paula with Cheesy Come, Cheesy Go / Trolley Treats & Sweets will have $5 cotton candy, with every dollar going directly to them.

This is my very good friend and her family could really use your help! Please visit her store this week to help clear the place out so they won’t be troubled with having to move a ton of stuff!

DUBAI CHOCOLATE supplies have FINALLYYYYYY been shipped! It’s been on backorder since May 1st! It should be here by Friday. If all goes as expected we will have our Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Brownie Yumminess on Saturday!!!!!!! It’s been very hard to get sooooooo….I ordered 45 pounds this time! That should hold us over for a hot second!!!

This isn’t just a side dish for my family! It’s always been a fundamental part of every Summer get together! There is a reason cucumber, tomato, and red onion salad shows up in virtually every food culture around the world! It's proof that simple ingredients, when paired right, hit every single sensory note you want in a side dish.
We’ve picked up some fresh produce so we could add this delight as a side dish choice this week!
You can also add it to go with any Cheese & Charcuterie box in the cheese shop!!!

My goodness, we sure filled a lot of hungry bellies this week with our “home” cooking!!! I’m super proud of our team for keeping up with the demand! We lost track of how many pounds of meatloaf we made this week!!! 😜
As many of you know we were closed at the beginning of July while we frantically tried to figure out our electrical issues. In order to reopen while we made upgrades we reinvented the wheel, gathered all of our popular “homestyle specials” and created our Homestyle Hometown Favorites menu. We figured if life was giving us lemons then we were making lemonade!!! What we didn’t expect is that it would be so well received!!!! Truthfully we didn’t realize how many folks longed for the simplicity & comfort of a good ole’ home cooked meal!!!! Well hold on to your hats because I’ve got a worn & tattered cookbook full of recipes I’ve been making for my family for over 40 years to share with you!!!!
We’re adding one of my favs as an extra this week….BEEF POT ROAST w/POTATOES, CARROTS & MUSHROOMS!! Served with a side of our homestyle green beans and honey butter biscuits!
AND we loaded up on Shrimp so we can offer the CAJUN SHRIMP BOIL everyday this week as well!
Restaurant serving hours are: Thursday, Friday and Saturday 11:30-7! All of our other shops in the Trolley Barn are OPEN Wednesday thru Saturday 11:30 to 7!
