Meet the Artist: Devan Brekke
Follow her: Devan Brekke

Devan’s work is whimsical with a touch of the macabre, deeply rooted in her upbringing in the Driftless and a childhood filled with Tolkien at bedtime.

She works across a range of mediums, many of which are skills passed down through her family and their traditions as makers and craftspeople. These disciplines often bleed into one another, making her work difficult to fit into a single box. When she’s not creating, Devan can be found exploring the state park system, reading, or playing all the games, usually with friends.

Find her work at Madison Art Market, 5944 Odana Rd, Madison, WI, 53719

For the people who are funny, slightly unhinged, and still believe in sending a card. 💌

A few of our current favorites for birthdays, love, questionable life choices, and everything in between. Because sometimes a card says it better.

September rolls around, the weather starts changing, and things at the Market can get a little quieter, too.

So we wanted to share a few simple ways you can support us during the slower months.
Stop in, bring a friend, share a post, come to an event, or find something made by a Wisconsin artist that you can’t leave without.

None of it has to be a big gesture. It all helps keep local art moving, artists supported, and this little market doing its thing. 💗

The seasons are changing, so we figured the walls could change with them. 🍁

A little rearranging, a few new pairings, and a whole new look at some pieces you might’ve walked right past before.
Come take a lap around the store.

The unofficial staff group chat, but make it art.

This week’s picks are the pieces we kept pointing out to each other, circling back to, or casually mentioning that we’re gonna buy if no one else does. So, naturally, they made the list.
