Sometimes life meets us where we are, and right now, life has put me in a place where I truly need to rest and recover.
The stress of closing the store, moving, and the search for a new location has been my primary focus for so long, and these past two weeks it finally caught up with me. I need to take this time to step back and undo the weight of all that unwanted stress.
Even while resting, my heart remains with our mission to help those in need and keep useful items out of landfills. To keep that momentum going while I recover, here is how you can continue to support our community:
- Small Donations & Clothing: I am still available to coordinate pickups for these items. Please message me directly so we can make arrangements.
- Large Items & Appliances: I highly recommend Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore. They are wonderful to work with; please call them to see what they can accept or schedule for pickup.
- Pet Rescues: Reach out to your local animal shelters. You might be surprised at the specific items they can reuse to care for their animals.
- Food Banks & Shelters: The pain of homelessness is something I pray you never have to experience. Please check your pantry—local food banks can often accept items near their expiration date and will guide you on what is most needed.
- The Red Cross: They are often the first on the scene after a house fire. They are currently in need of backpacks and essentials for families who have lost everything.
- Disabled Veterans: Our veterans deserve so much support. They are often in need of medical supplies like wheelchairs, walkers, and shower chairs, or even simple comforts like warm socks.
I don't want this to go on too long, but I want you to know how much I love and miss you all. Your calls, messages, and gifts have been such a blessing during this time. Please keep that love moving forward—a smile, a hug, or a prayer can change someone's entire life.
Creative Blessings,
April
