Today I am at the VFW Christmas in July show. I have a few pieces made up, but my main focus has been doing demonstrations and registering people for upcoming classes. It has been a fun day and I have met so many neat people !!

Today, I had my left hand/wrist fixed…first dorsal compartment release for De Quervain’s tenosynovitis…aka mommies wrist. It is inflammation to the tendons from repetitive movement.

Additionally, I received a bonus and nice surprise this morning when my doctor came in to do his patient identification and correct site identification. He said he would also be injecting steroids into a couple of inflamed knuckles. His NP and I did not discuss that , so it was a nice surprise.
Being a lefty, my poor left hand really gets a workout with scoring and soldering glass for long hours.

I know the steroid injections will not last, but it should help with the overall inflammation in my hand. I do have to say, I am surprised that index and middle finger hand knuckles are numb along with the proximal knuckle on the index finger.

My right hand was worked on few months ago with fabulous results. I did learn with the right hand that covering the molded 1/2 cast that is wrapped in ace bandages to secure it was great. The cast was as prestige the day it came off as the day it was applied.

Not a stained glass creation, but a handmade blanket for movie watching at home or at the theater . I made this for my sister’s upcoming Birthday.
